Our Policy

June 2026 - August 2027

Our Mission

Nuance Music Studio is committed to providing high-quality music lessons to students of all ages. Our goal is to inspire a

lifelong love of music by helping students build confidence, encourage progress, foster meaningful growth, and create a

positive learning experience that includes:

● Music lessons

● Academic-year scheduling, with optional summer lessons

● End-of-School-Year Recital

Enrollment Overview

Nuance Music Studio offers ongoing year-round instruction following our academic-year calendar from September through

August.

Enrollment continues automatically from month to month unless written notice of withdrawal is provided.

Students follow a scheduled calendar of lessons throughout the school year. Annual tuition is divided into equal monthly

installments and billed from September through June.

Summer tuition for July and August continues at the regular monthly rate and schedule unless written notice of withdrawal

or schedule changes is provided at least thirty (30) days in advance. Nuance Music Studio may also offer additional summer

programs and flexible scheduling options.

Enrollment Agreement

To maintain clear communication about tuition, fees, summer schedule, and the number of lessons per semester, a

parent/guardian or adult student signs the Policy Agreement upon enrollment.

Tuition & Fees

● Families are responsible for monthly payments once the first installment is paid.

● Registration & Materials Fee: $100 per instrument student and $60 per Kindermusik student, billed annually in

September (or upon joining, whichever is later). This non-refundable fee is charged upon registration.

● Tuition: Payable in advance and due on the 1st of every month.

● Payment Program: Tuition will be processed through our online payment program and will be automatically

debited on the 1st of each month from the payment method you provide on the platform.

● Tuition reserves a student’s scheduled lesson time and is not based solely on attendance.

● Late / Declined Payment Fee: A late fee of up to $100 may apply to overdue accounts.

● Lessons may be suspended after 10 days of non-payment. Repeated late payments or non-payment may result in

termination of lessons without refund.

● Enrollment and monthly tuition fees do not cover additional miscellaneous expenses such as competition

registrations or other external costs.

● Students enroll with Nuance Music Studio rather than with an individual teacher. Nuance Music Studio reserves the

right to assign or reassign teachers as needed.

Communication & Account Information

Families are responsible for keeping contact information and payment information current and for reviewing studio

communications sent by email or text.

Schedule, Holidays, and Observed Dates

A calendar with the scheduled lessons, holidays, and observed dates will be sent to you on enrollment. No lessons will be

held on the dates marked as holidays or studio closures. Please mark your calendars accordingly.

Arrival time for lessons (At-Home Lessons)

Our teachers travel between homes during working hours. Please allow a 5–10 minute arrival window past the scheduled

lesson time. If a teacher misses a lesson and has not contacted you, please notify Nuance Music Studio as soon as possible

by message or email.

Supervision Requirement (At-Home & Online Lessons)

An adult must be present on the premises during each lesson.

If no adult is present upon the teacher’s arrival, the lesson will be considered missed and is not eligible for credit or

make-up.

Online Lessons

● Technology Requirements: Families are responsible for having a working device, stable internet connection, and

the video platform (usually Google Meet) ready before each lesson.

● Environment: Students should be in a quiet, distraction-free space with their instrument ready.

● Recording: Students wishing to record a lesson should first obtain permission from the teacher.

● Supervision: An adult must be present or available during each online lesson.

● Missed Lessons Due to Technology Issues:

○ If the teacher’s connection fails, it will be treated as a Teacher Absence and should be made up.

○ If the student’s connection fails, it will be treated as a Student Absence and is not eligible for credit or

makeup.

Recitals and Performances

Nuance Music Studio plans to hold recitals throughout the school year. While participation is not mandatory, recitals are a

wonderful opportunity for students to share their progress.

Missed Lessons (Instruments and Kindermusik)

● Student Absences: Due to teacher scheduling and the individualized nature of these lessons, we are unable to offer

credits, reschedules, or refunds for missed instrumental lessons.

● Teacher Absences: Each semester includes one designated make-up week for any teacher absences.

● Makeups or refunds do not apply to cancellations due to state-declared emergencies such as severe weather

events (e.g., tornadoes, snowstorms, hurricanes, or other emergencies).

Student Preparedness

Students are expected to bring required books and materials to lessons and to have access to a properly functioning

instrument for regular practice.

Student Conduct

Nuance Music Studio reserves the right to discontinue lessons with any student whose behavior is disruptive, disrespectful, or otherwise incompatible with a positive learning environment.

Illness Policy

Students who are experiencing fever, vomiting, contagious illness, or other symptoms that may place teachers or classmates

at risk should remain home until symptom-free for at least 24 hours.

Online Lessons (At-Home & In-Studio)

If a teacher is unable to teach in person due to minor illness but is still able to teach online, lessons may be held virtually at

the regularly scheduled time.

Termination of Lessons

Withdrawal requests must be submitted by email to contact@nuancemusicstudio.com at least thirty (30) days before the

next scheduled tuition charge (the 1st of the month). For example, to avoid being charged for September, written notice

must be received by August 1st. Tuition is non-refundable once charged. Notice given to teachers verbally or by text

message does not constitute official written notice.

Photo & Video Consent

By enrolling in our lessons, you grant Nuance Music Studio permission to use photos and videos taken during lessons or

events for promotional purposes, including social media and our website.

If you prefer that the student not be included in any promotional media, please notify Nuance Music Studio in writing at the

time of registration.

Thank You!

We are truly grateful to have you as part of the Nuance Music Studio community. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of

your musical journey.

By agreeing, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to the terms outlined in this Enrollment Agreement.
